Returns & Exchanges Policy

At Spetrum Racing Model Shop, we stand behind our premium RC products with the same commitment to performance that you expect from your hobby-grade vehicles. If your purchase doesn’t meet your expectations, our straightforward returns process ensures quick resolution.

Our Return Policy

You may return most items within 15 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. To be eligible:

  • Item must be unused and in original packaging
  • All components and manuals must be included
  • Proof of purchase is required

Non-Returnable Items

Due to their specialized nature, the following cannot be returned unless defective:

  • RC Batteries (lithium polymer/polymer packs)
  • Ready to Fly Electric Airplanes (unless damaged in transit)
  • Opened maintenance fluids or adhesives
  • Custom-ordered parts

Return Process

Step 1: Initiate Your Return

Email our support team at [email protected] with:

  • Your order number
  • Item(s) being returned
  • Reason for return
  • Whether you prefer refund or exchange

Step 2: Receive Authorization

Within 1-2 business days, we’ll email:

  • Return authorization number (RMA)
  • Shipping instructions
  • Return address (our Alaska warehouse)

Step 3: Ship Your Return

Package the item securely with the RMA number visible. We recommend:

  • Using tracked shipping (we’re not responsible for lost returns)
  • Insuring high-value items ($100+)
  • Including all original packaging and accessories

Refund Processing

Once we receive and inspect your return:

  • Timing: Refunds process within 3-5 business days after inspection
  • Method: Funds return to your original payment method (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, PayPal)
  • Shipping Costs: Original shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error

Exchange Process

For exchanges of equal value:

  • We’ll ship your replacement once the return is received
  • For higher-value exchanges, you’ll pay the difference after return credit is applied
  • Exchanges ship via your original shipping method

Damaged or Defective Items

If your RC component arrives damaged or doesn’t perform like our premium brands promise (Vanquish Products, Traxxas TRX series, etc.):

  1. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery
  2. Include photos of the damage/defect
  3. We’ll typically send a replacement immediately (no return required for low-cost items)

International Returns Note

For customers outside the U.S.:

  • You’re responsible for return shipping costs and any customs fees
  • Refunds exclude original international shipping charges
  • Consider using DHL/FedEx for faster customs clearance
